11.00 Opening Room: Ando

11.05 Opening Keynote Room: Ando

All you need is Vibe – Johannes Neubauer

The new buzz in programming is “Vibe Coding.”

You might ask: Will it replace me?

In this talk, I’ll share what works, what doesn’t – yet – and why roles like software ENGINEER, software ARCHITECT, and SOLUTION architect won’t go extinct.

They’ll prevail – just like photography didn’t kill art. Let’s embrace the shift – wisely – and do more in less time.

Breakout sessions (12.00 – 12.45)

Builders and Breakers: A look at securing LLM-integrated apps – Rico Komenda Room: Ando

This session explores the security challenges of integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into applications, covering both attack techniques and defense strategies. Real-world threats like prompt manipulation and data poisoning will be demonstrated, along with protections such as input validation and continuous testing. Live demos and case studies will showcase both exploitation methods and mitigation approaches in action. Attendees will gain practical insights into securing AI-driven applications against adversarial threats. Whether building or testing AI systems, participants will leave with actionable strategies for enhancing LLM security.

Kotlin – The Next Evolutionary Step for Java Developers – Sascha Bast  Room: Hundertwasser

In this 45-minute session, we’ll explore why Kotlin is rapidly gaining traction in the Java ecosystem and how you, as a Java developer, can quickly leverage its advantages. We’ll provide an overview of key features—from null-safety and extension functions to seamless Java interoperability—demonstrating with practical examples how Kotlin makes your code more concise, maintainable, and performant. By the end of this talk, you’ll have a clear understanding of how to kick-start Kotlin projects and why the language is a forward-looking addition to any Java-centric tech stack.

Azure DevOps for Power Platform low-code and pro-code – Arjan Mesker Room: Hadid

Low-code is still code, and should therefor implement solid DevOps and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) practices. Implement source control, and automated build, release, and deployment for Power Platform solutions using Azure DevOps.

Lunch (12.45 – 13.30)

Breakout sessions (13.30 – 14.15)

Coding Snake in as Few Lines as Possible – Guus de Wit Room: Ando

Can you create a complete game with only a few lines of code? What if you want to run it on the JVM? In this talk, I’ll share my journey of recreating the classic game Snake in as few lines as possible. The challenge: build a recognizable and playable version with minimal code.

I will distill Snake down to its essence: What core elements make this game instantly recognizable? What can be simplified, left out or cleverly combined? Using Java/Kotlin, I will demonstrate how constraints can push us to become more creative.

This session will showcase interesting coding techniques and workarounds. How to balance conciseness versus readability? Regardless of whether you find the final solution elegant or “hacky”, you’ll gain insights that you can use in your own project. You might be inspired to start your own coding challenge, or at least think twice about what “necessary code” really means!

Three Automations come into a Bar – An Orchestra of intelligent Robots – Per-Olof Ermler Room: Hundertwasser

Technologies are in constant motion.  In this session we want to talk about the use and benefits of AI, RPA and Workflow Automation in combination. With this solution we can quickly adapt an Automation to include new technologies, swap solutions and include Low-Code and Pro-Code.

Accessibility and Neurodivergence – Alexandra Schlüter Room: Hadid

When talking about accessibility, you might instantly think about topics like screen-readers or colour-blindness. But did you ever consider the needs of neurodivergent groups when developing software? And what does neurodivergence even mean? In this talk, you will get an overview of the current state of research regarding accessibility and neurodivergence, and what this implies for software design and development.

There will also be room for people who want to speak about their own experiences, and for a broader discussion about software accessibility in general.

Breakout sessions (14.30 – 15.15)

Lightning Talks  Room: Ando

Three talks of approximately 15 minutes

  • How AI Editors Are Changing the Way We Code – Pieter Boerboom

This lightning talk offers a 101 overview of AI code editors – tools that are transforming how developers write and maintain code by providing intelligent suggestions and automating repetitive tasks. Agentic coding takes this further by allowing AI to act more independently, understanding context and executing complex coding operations on your behalf. We’ll explore popular options like Cursor and GitHub Copilot, highlighting their unique strengths. Watch a live coding demonstration that showcases how these tools can understand natural language prompts, generate functional code, and help troubleshoot issues in real-time.

  • Software Supply Chain Security – Why should I care? – Ludger Pottmeier

We are all building and maintaining complex software products  including internal and external dependencies like open source libraries. Verifying the integrity of those assets across the entire supply chain is critical to maintain the overall security of the software products.

  • Genesys for Dynamics 365 Customer Service – Marwin Hogeterp

We are all building and maintaining complex software products  including internal and external dependencies like open source libraries. Verifying the integrity of those assets across the entire supply chain is critical to maintain the overall security of the software products.

Rendering Patterns – An overview – Rene Nienaber Room: Hundertwasser

Rendering patterns are attracting increasing interest in the web community and more and more (meta-) frameworks are being supplemented with modern and more complex solutions. Classic rendering patterns such as Client-Side Rendering (CSR), Static-Site Generation (SSG) and Server-Side Rendering (SSR) are well established, while other rendering patterns and their interrelationships are often less well known. The terms are sometimes understood differently and are not always mutually exclusive, which makes the discussion of rendering patterns more difficult. We take a look at current rendering patterns, differentiate between them and categorize them. By the end, participants will have a good overview of current rendering patterns, know how to classify them correctly, as well as future rendering patterns, and be aware of pitfalls.

Finops in Action – How we cut down over 50% of Cloud Database cost – Shankara Hariharan Room: Hadid

The session  how FinOps practices were used to cut down database costs. Some of the key strategies that were adopted included rightsizing resources, reserved instances, and cost tracking automation.
